Q. How often is NewsBreak updated?
A. NewsBreak is updated every 15 minutes. The home page and index pages are set to refresh each 15 minutes, so if you leave your browser open on the NewsBreak site, the page will automatically refresh to ensure you have the latest news.

Q. How does NewsBreak work?
A. NewsBreak crawls the most respected news sites in Australia and the world every few minutes and determines the most important stories. It also groups similar stories together. The NewsBreak pages using this information are generated every 15 minutes. We are continuing to improve the way that NewsBreak works and we welcome your feedback and suggestions.

Q. Why do smh.com.au and theage.com.au always seem to be at the top?
A. NewsBreak is part of Fairfax Digital, the online division of Fairfax that publishes The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age newspapers. We rank stories from these sites higher than others as we believe by doing so we will deliver a service of better quality and more relevance to the Australian market than by equaling ranking all news sources.

Q. What sites are included?
A. You will find a current list of sites in our Sources section.

Q. Why aren't more news sites included?
A. We have limited the number of sites included to be only the most respected and relevant news sources for an Australian audience.
